Gatsby, 4 years old, was found on the side of the road in Texas with his rear paw stuck in a fence. While stuck there, he had been attacked. Completely recovered, he enjoyed time with other large and medium sized dogs on the farm before being sent from Houston to DHDR during the hurricane. Gatsby would not be a good match for cats. While he can be timid at first, he adjusts easily and loves to be loved. He is a classic velcro Doberman who loves to play fetch; he isn’t a fan of “return,” or maybe he just wants you to get your exercise in too. Gatsby is crate trained and does well in the car. He is learning basic obedience and is doing great walking on leash. Gatsby is also Heartworm positive due to lack of preventative care before being rescued. His difficult treatment will last through the end of 2017. Gatsby is adoptable now and during that time under a strict protocol and treatment program funded and organized by DHDR.
