Izzy is a gorgeous fawn female, approximately 6 years old with natural ears and a docked tail. This poor thing has really been through a lot in a short amount of time, but she keeps an upbeat state of mind and is a real  joy to be around. Turned in as a stray to a rural Arizona Animal Control Center, it was discovered she had a large, jagged laceration on her neck that had not been treated and was infected and painful.  This was treated by DHDR and she has recovered.  Izzy also tested positive for Heart Worm upon entering the rescue.  She has completed her treatment but will need monitoring and continued Heart Worm preventative medicine to remain healthy.  We have no reason to believe she can’t have a full life ahead of her! She is phenomenal with children and all people alike. Izzy is EXCELLENT with the resident cat in her foster home and enjoys playing with him, but unfortunately she can not go to a home with other dogs. She will require some training to address her reactive nature toward other dogs, which has not been possible during her treatment.  Never fear, we have an Arizona trainer willing to offer assistance to this lovely girl and her new adoptive parents. Her foster home has helped tremendously with her obedience training and really enjoys her chew toys. She is very much so a Velcro Doberman, and just wants to be with you at all times, but isn’t much of a “kisser.” Izzy is housebroken and crate trained and shows a lot of potential for further obedience work.  She would be perfect for a home that is only looking for one dog, and no doubt would fulfill her duty as family companion.
