What a lover boy! Rosso is a 2-year-old red-headed Dobie and is cropped, flopped, and docked. Rosso is special here, as he is a recent amputee! He was found as a stray with a badly broken hip and pelvis. It was better for him to have his hind leg amputated as the injury was at least a week old when he came into our care from a county shelter. Having been through so much lately, he is an especially velcro boy – which says a lot for being a Doberman. He does great with children and seems uninterested in the cats, chickens, goats, and resident peacock at his foster home. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs as well. That being said, Rosso is a high-energy dog (yes, even with 3 legs) and will need someone with the time, energy, and capability to keep him exhausted! Training is in progress for both obedience and household manners. This is something that will need to be continued in his new home, and will require some patience on the family’s behalf. But, when he isn’t playing “stealth Dobe” and snagging an unattended snack from the counter, Rosso is a COMPLETE snuggle bug and has successfully stolen our hearts. To us, it seems like the ones who come in a little broken at first appreciate the second chance a little more, and in the end have the most to offer their new family.
