Ebony is about two years old and weighs approximately 55 lbs. She’s an energetic, entertaining, and confident Dobie girl. She is cropped and docked but her ears don’t always stand. This gives her an engaging, playful look which, paired with sweet loving eyes, makes her a unique beauty.
Probably a mom at one time, Ebony is of course spayed now. She’s a little bit wary around male dogs until she’s used to them, and then she loves to romp and play. Her favorite doggie playmates are smaller, playful yet submissive dogs. She is protective with puppies but seems threatened by large dogs who aren’t extremely submissive. Ebony would be best without a large dog in her home.
Ebony will thrive with an experienced Dobie owner who can help her settle and learn who’s in charge. Though she has been exposed to children of all ages and is gentle with them, her dominant personality will do best with older children who have previous large dog experience. We also recommend a home with no cats because she enjoys chasing them.
She is currently learning how to walk nicely on a leash without pulling and in a pack, and she already knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, come, fetch, drop), and is working on them in German as well! She loves giving kisses and wants nothing more than to find a family who can give her lots of love and attention. This athletic lover of playing ball will retrieve all day and enjoys romping and fetching off leash with her foster mom.
Ebony is a very smart girl and we believe she has a great capacity to learn advanced obedience and agility. She’s looking for an experienced Doberman home with an active lifestyle, and for at least one human who’d enjoy working with her in a competitive dog sport like agility, obedience, or rally!
