Bunchy is an extra special survivor. An 18 month old male Doberman, Bunchy showed up as a stray near a trucking yard. The employees left food and water for him, and he continued to be at their gate every morning. Eventually, they noticed pools of blood where he was resting. They rented a vehicle and transported him to the Emergency Vet, who sent him to Arizona Humane. Bunchy had Necrotic Paraphimosis – a severe infection of the sheath around the penis. This completely blocked his ureter (ability to pee) so his bladder became huge. He got help just in time – they were able to express his bladder, and amputate his penis. They then reconstructed skin so he could urinate “normally.”
The vet felt that if he had been left untreated one night longer, his bladder would have burst and he likely would have died. We can’t imagine the horrendous pain he must have been in. After his surgery, AHS transferred him to DHDR. Bunchy has been doing great with the people and dogs in his foster home – big and small. He loves to snuggle, and sleep with his people. Bunchy was neglected for so long, it seems he doesn’t want his people to leave him at all, so we are working on his separation anxiety.
Bunchy is looking for an adopter just as special as he is to get endless love and cuddles for the rest of his days.
